To Be Yourself

No I'm not like everybody else
Should I be?
It's been a long time since I don't say
what a really mean.

Because I have to hide
behind masks, behind lies
because everybody judges
tough this is only MY life

The day I gather the courage
the day I say it out loud
we'll see who was always honest
we'll see who stands in the crowd

We're all different from each other, one way or another..
We don't like the same food, we don't support the same teams, we don't wear the same colors and let's face it: If we did it would be really boring.
And if everybody is "different" why are some differences "worse" than others?
Why do politics,ethnicities and sexuality (amongst many others) separate our realities so far from one another?
If we could just respect each other we could all be a little bit more sincere and live easier.

I know one entry in one blog won't change the world, but at least I can express my support for those who can't be themselves, only because of a society in wich most people is happy just closing their eyes not to see the reality around them..
